The "Brain Balancer" or "9-Gamut Procedure"
From the original EFT process
The "Brain Balancer" helps to balance the right and left sides of the brain. It was a part of the original EFT "basic recipe" but Gary Craig dropped using it routinely around 1997 when he realized that he was usually getting excellent results without it. However, it is still used from time to time and it is good to know. Often it simply feels good, and it can help move things along with a persistent problem.
How To Do The Brain Balancer or 9-Gamut Procedure
FIRST: Tap one full round for the stated problem. Do the Set-up and all the points. Then continue tapping on the Top of Hand point (which is also called the Gamut point) during the entire sequence below. The Top of Hand point is near the base of the ring finger and the baby finger.
- Close your eyes
- Open your eyes
- Look hard down to your right (without moving your head)
- Look hard down to your left
- Swing your eyes in a full 360-degree circle (clockwise is good - head still still)
- Now swing your eyes in a full circle in the opposite direction (counterclockwise)
- Now hum a few bars of any song ("Happy Birthday to you")
- Now count out loud (1-2-3-4-5)
- Now hum a few more bars of the song ("Happy Birthday to you")
You've just completed the Brain Balancer!
Usually the Brain Balancer is "sandwiched" in between two rounds of EFT. So you may wish to immediately begin another round for the same problem. Then stop to evaluate the results.
If things seem a little stuck and need a boost, you can try the Brain Balancer. It changes the pace, feels good, and sometimes brings a smile.
