I view smoking cessation as a process and use a holistic approach, addressing physical, mental and emotional aspects. You learn about nicotine addiction and how the mind and emotions are affected. Through hypnotherapy and EFT, you experience major changes as the power cigarettes have over you diminishes. Within a few sessions, you are ready to set your quit date - you feel safe and confident and "know you can do it". Many people experience few if any withdrawal symptoms because the process of working with the subconscious has already freed them from most of their attachment.
Hypnotherapy has helped thousands of people become tobacco-free, and the addition of EFT makes it even more effective. EFT can reduce cravings, and also "break up" the inner programming whereby smoking is associated with so many activities and times of day, like driving in the car, after meals, on breaks, etc. The old attachment to cigarettes just isn't there with the same intensity. And as EFT helps to clear the old patterns, the new vision of oneself as a non-smoker is even easier to bring in through hypnotherapy. With the combination of these two tools, it is truly possible to break through the smoking habit and become a non-smoker for life.

"SMOKING CESSATION WITH HYPNOTHERAPY AND E.F.T."

My program is for individuals, couples or small groups. If several people go through the program together, I can lower the rate per person. The program takes four weeks, sessions a week apart. This is how it works:
The First Session – 1 ½ hours – Preparation.
In this session, we talk about your motivation to stop smoking – why now? We discuss the subconscious mind and what you can expect from hypnotherapy and the related tool I use, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). I introduce EFT and you learn how to reduce stress, anxiety and cravings using EFT. It’s a great feeling to know that you can feel better fast without depending on cigarettes. You receive instructions for using EFT at home this week. You learn about the subconscious mind and we do a brief hypnosis session. I give you a "Preparation for Smoking Cessation" self-hypnosis CD, a manual with some homework to complete, and a book to read. By the time we meet again, most people feel much calmer and more confident and many will have cut down on their smoking without a struggle.
The Second Session – 2 – 2 ½ hours – Building Motivation and Changing Inner Programming.
We talk extensively about your smoking habits and use EFT to ‘break up’ the inner programming that makes smoking a part of your day. We address the fears and the loss many people experience as they prepare to let go of cigarettes. We may address deeper emotional attachments to smoking, continuing to clear with EFT. You will learn about nicotine dependency and psychological addiction and why it has been so hard to quit in the past. You learn about "addictive thinking" and the power you have to change the way your mind is working. Then I help you go into deep relaxation through hypnosis, and I create a special hypnotherapy experience just for you. You receive a custom-made hypnotherapy tape or CD to take home so that you can continue listening and reinforcing the changes. I don’t recommend that people quit today. Usually, this session prepares the ground for quitting the next week.
The Third Session – 2 hours – Breaking Free.
For many people, this session is the quit date, but I respect individual choice – there are many ways that this can work. We focus on whatever blocks you from completely letting go of cigarettes. We may do some "parts therapy" if there is a part of you that is still attached to smoking. We then do a powerful hypnosis process that allows many people to leave as non-smokers after this session and others firmly committed to stopping on their chosen quit date. After doing the mental preparation most people have few or no cravings and no withdrawal symptoms – and any mild cravings or discomfort can be effectively dealt with using the tools. You receive tips on how to handle the first two weeks with diet, exercise and other supportive things you can do. You receive a reinforcement CD.
The Fourth Session – 1½ hours – Relapse prevention.
This session is your "vaccination" against relapse. We talk about how you’re doing and what fears of relapse you have. We then use EFT and a powerful hypnosis process to treat all the ‘danger times’ you might encounter and set up an "alarm system" in the subconscious to keep you tobacco-free forever. You learn skills for maintenance, and you receive a final personalized hypnotherapy tape or CD so that you can use it to reinforce and maintain your decision to remain a non-smoker anytime you feel the need.
